Things to Do

The Beachville District Museum is home to a vast selection of historical artifacts that will delight both young and old. Aside from numerous displays, luscious parkland and special events that are held through the year, the museum is also home to the First Recorded Baseball Game in North America. Visit their website for more information.

This well-maintained trail is packed earth and has wood chips on large sections. There are several loops, so hikers can go as short or as long a distance as they desire. This is a great place for a family picnic. Embro Pond is located on Road 84, just west of County Road 6 (north of Embro). Harrington Pond and Conservation Area has been a favourite fishing and picnic area for generations. In the last few years steps have been taken to stabilize the pond from erosion, restore the Harrington Mill and naturalize a large part of the grounds. Harrington Conservation Area is located at 963656 Road 96.  For more information, contact the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority at 519-451-2800. 

Cobble Hills Golf Club rests upon 110 acres of gently rolling terrain, which weaves its way through majestic pine forests. The property boasts spectacular views of London to the southwest and stunning country vistas of Oxford County to the southeast. This nine hole course is very scenic and easily walked. There are some hills and elevation changes throughout the design, but they are moderate. The fairways are tree lined. The greens are average-sized and are challenging due to the surface contour. The condition of this course is impeccable. Happy Hills is located near Embro, Ontario. Canada. The 135 acre property encompasses 445 shaded campsites, all complete with electric, water and sewage hook-ups. You can visit the Happy Hills website or call 519-475-4471 for more information.

Camp Tanner is located at Bill Tanner Kin Camp, south of Stratford. In the heart of Southern Ontario, Camp Tanner is a small camp with big spirit. Each camper enjoys a jam packed week of affordable fun provided by an incredible staff team. Each year the Township of Zorra hosts numerous recreational and cultural events. Here are a few you won't want to miss! 

Calithumpian

The Village of Thamesford hosts Calithumpian Days on Victoria Day weekend in May. Activities held during Calithumpian Day include: dances, amusements, a trout brunch, parade, and fireworks. 

 

Lakeside Triathlon

The Village of Lakeside hosts a variety of triathlon races sponsored by Multisport Canada in June each year.  For detailed information on all the race events, directions to the venue or area accommodations, please visit the Multisport website

 

Embro Highland Games

The Village of Embro comes alive every July 1st for the Embro Highland Games sponsored by the Caledonian Society.  Activities at this event include: 10km road race, heavy athletic events, an avenue of the clans & Scottish vendors, tug-of-war competitions, highland dancing, solo piping and pipe bands. This event is the oldest Highland Games held in Ontario. 

 

Embro Fall Fair

Embro hosts an annual Fall Fair the third weekend of September sponsored by the Embro & Zorra Agricultural Society. This is an old fashioned fair with events including livestock shows, Special Events, Ambassador Leadership Program, Inflatables, Road Hockey Tournament, Touch A Truck, Homecraft & Agricultural competitions/Displays, Family Fun entertainment Friday and Saturday Nights to name just a few.
